On cold-saponification
Cold-process soap-making retains the glycerin that forms as a natural by-product when fats are saponified with lye. This glycerin is a humectant — it draws moisture to the skin surface. Most commercial soap strips this glycerin out and sells it separately. The difference in skin feel is structural, not cosmetic.
On activated charcoal
The activated charcoal in this bar is food-grade and made from coconut shells via steam activation. It is inert, has no systemic effect when used topically, and works purely through physical adsorption at the skin surface — binding sebum-carried impurities and environmental particulate during cleansing.
This bar contains no added fragrance, essential oils, or synthetic perfume. The subtle herbal scent comes entirely from the honeybush infusion.
How to use
Wet your hands or a soft cloth. Lather the bar gently. Apply to face or body. Rinse thoroughly. Store on a breathable soap dish or wooden rack to extend bar life.
When not to use
Patch-test before first facial use if your skin is reactive. Not recommended for use on broken or compromised skin.
